Myrtos Beach is one of the most famous and impressive beaches in Greece. Located on the northwest coast of Kefalonia, it is surrounded by steep limestone cliffs and offers spectacular views over the deep blue waters of the Ionian Sea. The beach is covered with smooth white pebbles that create a striking contrast with the turquoise water. The colour of the sea changes throughout the day, making Myrtos an unforgettable destination for swimming, photography and relaxation. A panoramic viewpoint above the beach offers one of the best photo opportunities in Kefalonia. The road leading down to Myrtos is paved and provides access to the beach, although visitors should drive carefully because of the bends and steep sections. The sea can sometimes become deep and wavy, so swimmers should always follow local safety advice and pay attention to weather conditions. The sunset views from Myrtos and the surrounding viewpoints are especially beautiful. Myrtos Beach can easily be reached by rental car or private transfer from Argostoli, Kefalonia Airport, Fiskardo, Assos and other areas of the island.
